A new day, yet the same result.

For the second time in as many nights, the Swift Current 57's were doubled-up by the Weyburn Beavers Sunday night, falling by the same score of 6-3.

Making his first start as a member of the 57's, right-handed pitcher Mitch Guiberson experienced a rude welcoming.

After a scoreless top of the 1st, Guiberson took the mound for the bottom half, only to see his very first pitch knocked out of the park for a home-run.

However, it did not take long for Swift Current to get back on even ground.

57's third baseman Keil Krumwiede returned the favour to start the top of the 2nd hitting the very first pitch he saw out of the park.

After Weyburn re-gained the lead in the bottom half, Swift Current tied the game 2-2 in the top of the 3rd.

With two-out and Grant Van Scoy on third, a wild pitch allowed the Papillion, Nebraska native to scamper home.

Unfortunately for the 57's, the 4th inning would prove to be their undoing.

A walk, two doubles, a ground-out and a sacrifice fly cashed in three Beaver's runs and Weyburn would never look back.

Leading 5-2, the Beavers extended the lead to four in the 6th inning with a two-out single.

The 57's managed to scratch across one more run in the top of the 9th when Cole Thibodeau scored on a Van Scoy single, but 6-3 was as close as they would get.

The loss dropped the 57's to 19-11 on the season and 1.5 games back of Regina for first in the East, while Weyburn pulled within 2.5 games of Swift Current for second.

Monday will be a day off for the 57's before they make their first ever trip to Fort McMurray on Tuesday.
