A strong bullpen and some sixth-inning magic proved to be the recipe for a Swift Current 57's win last night in a 6-5 win in Weyburn.

Down 2-0 in the series and facing elimination against the Beavers, the 57's fell behind Weyburn 3-0 after two innings with a stretch of RBI singles.

Swift Current battled back in the top of the third inning, as a Blake Adams walk with the bases loaded scored Cole Thibideau from third base. However with just one out in the inning, the 57's weren't able to capitalize on the bases-loaded jam, as Bodie Cooper and Nick Canas flied out to end the inning.

Another RBI single by Weyburn in the bottom half of the third inning brought the Beavers lead to 4-1, and spelled the exit of 57's starter Matt Michalski (2 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 0 SO).

Reliever Sean Chandler entered the third inning with no outs and runners on second and third, and escaped the threat with a line-out and two strikeouts.

The 4-1 score didn't waver until the top of the sixth inning, when the 57's found the efficiency at the plate they had long been accustomed to in the regular season and first round of playoffs.

A pair of Mason Brown and Brett Esau singles, as well as a John Baiada walk, loaded the bases for Swift Current. Cole Thibideau then drew a walk to scored the runner from third, Riley Campbell scored a runner after grounding into a fielder's choice, and a throwing error on a Matt Bondarchuk single scored two more runs for the 57's.

The four-run inning pushed Swift Current into the lead - their first of the series.

Sean Chandler struck out two more batters in the bottom of the sixth, ending his night with a perfect four innings of work (4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 SO).

Jagger Harjo and Keil Krumwiede combined for one run on three hits in the final three innings to clinch the win for the 57's.

Mitch Guiberson gets the start in game four for Swift Current, as they look to even up the series on the road - a series that hasn't seen the home team on the winning end of a game to this point.

In the WMBL's other semi-final, the Edmonton Prospects took game three over the Medicine Hat Mavericks 4-3 to take a 2-1 series lead.
