Beck Warm made 24 saves as the Tri-City Americans rebounded from a 7-0 loss in Moose Jaw last night to shut the Swift Current Broncos out 3-0 tonight.

"It's kind of one of those games where they didn't do anything to us we did it to ourselves," said Broncos Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Dean Brockman. "But I did like our effort. Some guys played really well,"

It was a stingy game with 47 combined shots and the Americans didn't have a lot of high quality scoring chances.

"We didn't give up a lot," Brockman said. "There were opportunities in the D-zone to move pucks and we didn't. We got hemmed in a little bit, but certainly didn't give up a lot of opportunities to them."

The Americans struck twice in the first period off of Swift Current turnovers. The opening goal came on a centering feed in the Tri-City zone that bounced away from the intended targed and turned into an American odd-man rush.

Isaac Johnson then slid a pass across the front of the Swift Current net as Kyle Olson knocked in his 4th of the season.

Tri-City added to their lead in the final minute of the first period as Ethan Regnier turned it over deep in his own zone and Krysto Hrabik ripped it over Joel Hofer's left shoulder.

That's all the scoring the Americans would need to earn the win.

Swift Current pushed back strong in the second period and outshot Tri-City 20-13 in the final two periods.

"We just gave up trying to be tight," Brockman said. "When you don't win a lot of games you're going to get a little nervousness to it. You know just relax let's just play. If we had a started that way I'd be a lot happier. At least they came around half way throughout the game and created more stuff than in the first half."

The Broncos went 0 for 4 on the power play and have dropped to 13.4% on the season.

"We had chances on our power play and didn't take advantage of them," Brockman said. "Those are momentum swings. We've got to find ways to score goals in those situations."

Swift Current's penalty kill was strong in the loss killing off all three Tri-City opportunities.

The loss was Swift Current's fourth in a row and ended their home ice point streak at four.

The Broncos were again without veteran defenceman Matthew Stanley who has missed four straight games with an illness. Eric Houk was still our injured after his fight on Saturday in Regina.

Swift Current continues a five-game home stand on Saturday night against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
