The Len's Plumbing & Heating/Smitty's Bantam Steelers continue the trend of night football games tonight at Colts Field.

Following the Comp Colts game last night, the 1-0 Steelers face off against a familiar opponent - the Moose Jaw Raiders.

The Steelers and Raiders met in the first game of the season, with the Steelers emerging victorious in a 27-0 win.

Steelers head coach Brian Cloutier says a couple late touchdowns may have made the score misleading, however, their game plan ahead of tonight hasn't changed.

"I think the Raiders are going to be coming out strong. The score didn't represent the game that we had there, but we did pull out the win," he said. "I think we're going to just stick with our game plan and hopefully we'll have success."

Success in the minor football program itself has been evident, as noted by Colts head coach Derek Murdoch, who has younger players from recent league champion Steelers teams starting on both sides of the ball.

Also recognizing the success of the program is Steelers' team manager Garnet Sloman, who details the importance of utilizing a good partnership with the high school level to maximize the players' potential upon graduation of minor football.

"Well it's big because we work together with the high school quite a bit trying to get players there," he said. "The minor football program is a great program - it helps kids, and if it helps the high school then it's a win-win for everybody."

Game time between the Len's Plumbing & Heating/Smitty's Bantam Steelers and Moose Jaw Raiders is 7 p.m.

Elsewhere in southwest football today, the Gull Lake Lions head to Caronport tonight in 6-man action, after a 59-0 win against Central Butte in week one.

As well, a rematch under the lights between the Maple Creek Redmen and Shaunavon Shadows.

Shaunavon hosted game one between the two teams, with Maple Creek taking that game 28-19.

The Shadows look for revenge tonight at 7 p.m. in Maple Creek.
