It's going to be a busy season and a shorter one than normal, but considering the cancelled season in 2020, Swift Current Lacrosse is excited either way.

Speaking with Trenton Froese, President of Swift Current Lacrosse earlier when the government's rules on competitive play for finally adjusted, Froese was unsure how many teams would be available on short notice to hold a traditional season under the South Sask Lacrosse League.

Announced earlier in the week, it turned out that those fears were groundless, as each of the individual associations within the South Sask was able to field enough teams for each of the 12U, 14U and 16U groups to have something close to a typical season rather than relying on house leagues and skills practices.

The action gets underway tomorrow at Fairview Arena West as both 12U and 16U will host Moose Jaw Mustang squads.

Then it'll be a couple of road weekends for the Rampage before the season gets capped off with the provincial championships set for July 23-35.

Swift Current Online will have results and photos from the first weekend of Rampage Lacrosse on Monday.
