It's gameday once again for the Swift Current Broncos, as they look to continue what's been a hot stretch of play lately on home ice.

The Broncos have claimed six of a possible eight points over the past four games at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.

The latest Bronco looking to contribute in just his second home game and third overall with the Broncos is forward Ian Briscoe, who the team officially signed to a WHL Standard Player Agreement on November 4.

"It's been really good, I like it - small town, everyone knows everybody, team seems good," said the Winnipeg-born Briscoe.

The 19-year-old Briscoe made his debut with the Broncos over the weekend, skating in Saturday's game in Regina, and Sunday back in Swift Current against the Red Deer Rebels.

The debut weekend was Briscoe's first game action of the 2018-19 season, after recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

"The conditioning took a little bit of a hit at the start there," said Briscoe. "The first few shifts were definitely overwhelming (in Regina), but I've just got to get my feet underneath me, and my confidence back, and hopefully I'll be going again."

It's not Briscoe's first time donning a green and blue jersey at the WHL level, having spent parts of the past two seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

After Seattle won a WHL championship in Briscoe's first season, they dipped last year, en route to a 0.542 win-percentage.

Still, the combo of years provided the team's 2014 fifth-round bantam draft pick with invaluable experience.

"Well out there in Seattle, they had a couple really good teams," Briscoe noted. "I learned how to play the third and the fourth line, had to grind it out a little bit, so I'm going to put that to my new game now, and try and put that with the offensive skill that I have, and hopefully things go well."

Hoping to stick at the major junior level in his 20-year-old season as well, Briscoe says finding a scoring rhythm that saw him post a 0.79 point-per-game average at the MJHL level with the Dauphin Kings is key.

"Little bit more of an offensive guy, play a little bit of a two-way game as well, but just trying to help out the offence here in Swift Current a bit. Just trying to get my confidence back. I want to put up some good numbers this year, help the team out, and maybe be here next year."

Briscoe has a chance to get on track with those goals tonight, as the Broncos (3-16-1-1) host the Tri-City Americans (11-6-0-0).

The Americans are fresh off a 7-0 loss last night in Moose Jaw at the hands of the Warriors.
