With the scene now shifting to Swift Current, the Broncos are looking to regain control of their second round WHL Playoff series against the Regina Pats.

Taking on the top ranked team in the CHL, Swift Current stole game one of the series in overtime to swing home-ice advantage in their favour.

However, looking to take a 2-0 series lead on Friday the Broncos ran into penalty trouble, which led to a 6-2 loss.

"You take a lot of penalties, it taxes your top guys and puts you on your heals," Broncos Associate Coach Ryan Smith said following the loss.

"It swung momentum their way in the second period."

Penalties will be something the Broncos look to avoid Monday night in game three as they return to the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.

The Pats power-play operated at a league best 31.5% during the regular season and is currently clicking at a 40% rate in the playoffs.

On the flip side, Swift Current's power-play also showed promise in game two's loss.

After starting the playoffs 4-26 with the man-advantage, the Broncos went 2-5 on Friday, which is something they will look to build off of.

"We were just moving the puck and getting shots on net," Broncos forward Tyler Steenbergen spoke of their power-play on Friday.

"I think we were trying to be a little too fancy the other night."

Although the power-play appears to be trending in the right direction, one trend the Broncos will be looking to put an end to is the results on home ice of late.

Swift Current went 1-2 on home ice in their first round series against the Warriors, despite three raucous crowds at the iPlex.

"We love playing (in Swift Current)," said Steenbergen.

"We haven't been getting the results at home, but with (the fans) behind us it is going to make it that much better. With them being that loud there will be a little bit of jitters in the first period, but once you get a few hits in there, it'll all be okay."

Of note, Pats forward Adam Brooks left game two with an apparent lower body injury and his status remains uncertain for Monday's game, while Filip Ahl did not play in game two and his status is also uncertain.

Game three between the Broncos and Pats is scheduled to get underway at 7:05pm from the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.
