Glenn Gawdin is in the middle of his final WHL training camp, and his destination this season remains up in the air.

The captain of the Swift Current Broncos will be trying to earn a job in the pros as he heads to Calgary Flames camp and the 2017 Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic which features prospects from the Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets.

"I want to show them what kind of player I am," Gawdin said. "They seem to like me enough for me to get the invite, so now it's a matter of doing what I can to force their hand to hopefully sign me. If not, it's a four-team tryout, so there will be a lot of exposure there."

The native of Richmond, British Columbia says with the exposure of multiple opportunities, the window to showcase his talent is drastically smaller than over the course of a WHL season.

"Every time you're on the ice, you want to do something to catch their eye or show them you're better than the guys you're going against and playing alongside. You just want to show them what kind of player you are - hopefully as quickly as possible."

However, the possibility does exist for the forward to be back in the WHL for his overage season.

If Gawdin is back with the Broncos, he would have an optimistic outlook.

"We had a pretty good run there that was cut a little shorter than we were hoping for obviously, but we're just trying to build off of that," he said. "We have a lot of good players coming back, and it's going to be exciting this year for this team - if I'm back, it's definitely not a bad thing."

Last year Gawdin had 59 points (26 goals, 33 assists) in 52 games with the Broncos. He has 188 points (70 goals, 118 assists) over 245 contests in his WHL career.

Catch him and the rest of the players at Broncos training camp in scrimmages tonight at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. over at Fairview West Arena.

The annual Blue and White game is Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
