The Western Canadian Baseball League named the recipients of their award-winners and league all-stars from the 2019 summer season, and the Swift Current 57's are well-represented.

The main honour saw longtime bench boss Joe Carnahan named the WCBL Coach of the Year.


First-team all-star awards were earned by two pitchers and a position player:

Zach Patterson (Starting Pitcher)

  • 64.2 IP, 12 starts, 5-1 record, 2.37 ERA, 77 K, 22 BB, 46 H

Graeme Cherry (Relief Pitcher)

  • 38.2 IP, 18 appearances, 4-0 record, 1 start, 1 SV, 2.79 ERA, 25 K, 6 BB, 43 H

Breyden Eckout (Utility)

  • .328 AVG, 5 HR, 34 RBI, 13 2B, 3 3B, 15 BB, 39 R, 16 K in 45 games
  • Played 7 of 9 positions in 2019 - 3B (102.1 innings), LF (71 innings), SS (36 innings), 2B (17 innings), RF (7 innings), CF (3 innings), P (1 inning)

Second-team all-stars were racked up by another three 57's:

Garrett Alexander (Closer)

  • 36 IP, 4-0 record, 15 SV, 1.50 ERA, 50 K, 16 BB, 19 H

Kiel Krumwiede (Shortstop)

  • .313 AVG, 5 HR, 21 RBI, 11 2B, 2 3B, 20 BB, 39 R, 28 K in 41 games

Ryan Magdic (Designated Hitter)

  • .353 AVG, 3 HR, 25 RBI, 10 2B, 1 3B, 14 BB, 17 R, 33 K in 37 games

The 57's amassed a 38-18 regular season record in 2019 (2nd in the East), doing so with a stretch of 17 wins in the final 20 games.

They lost to the Regina Red Sox in Game 3 of the Eastern Division Finals, falling one game short of a spot in the championship series.
