The Spokane Chiefs have doubled down on Swift Current talent at the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft in Calgary.
After picking Kabos Broncos defenceman Mac Gross in the 3rd round (50th overall), the Chiefs later re-focused their attention on Swift Current, picking Kabos Broncos leading scorer Reed Jacobson.
Jacobson scored 39 goals and added 31 assists in 29 games during the 2016-2017 regular season prior to being picked in the 6th round (115th overall) by Spokane.
The 5'8", 142lbs Swift Current native continued his strong season in the playoffs picking up another 9 goals and 5 assists in 9 games.
Jacobson and Gross were both key contributors for the Kabos Bantam 'AA' Broncos team that won the Saskatchewan Bantam 'AA' Hockey League this season, and represented the province at the Western Canada Bantam 'AAA' Championship.
