Another prolific Swift Current volleyball standout is headed to continue their game at the post-secondary level.

First, it was Dylan Mortensen, who is thriving in his second season with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. Then, star Braedon Friesen began his stint with the University of Alberta Golden Bears this fall, as well a red-shirt first season at the U of S for Dayton Patzer.

Now, the latest Senior Colts workhorse set to showcase his skill-set at the U Sports level is left side Henry Rempel.

Announced by soon-to-be new head coach Ben Josephson on Instagram over the weekend, the 6-foot-5 outside hitter is headed to Trinity Western University.

The powerhouse Spartans program, based in Langley, is an annual hotbed for some of the top volleyball players in western Canada, as well as across the country.

The Spartans men's team is currently ranked #1 in the U Sports Top 10, as of last week. TWU is 9-1 on the year, with their lone loss coming in a split to the 11-1 U of A Golden Bears.

Of note, the Trinity women's program also bears that same status as the top team in Canada in their respective Top 10 list.

Meanwhile back at the high school level, Rempel shouldered the load for the SCCHS Senior Colts as a Grade 12 this season, en route to an SHSAA 5A Boys Provincial silver medal. He also was on the roster for a provincial bronze in his Grade 10 year, and gold last season as a Grade 11.

Rempel, from Wymark, also gained exposure on one of two U18 Male Canadian Youth National Teams this past summer. He has one final club season remaining with the Junior Sundogs before he's headed west for the fall of 2019.
