A slow start at provincials ultimately led to a Division Two, Tier Three finish for the Swift Current 14U Female Yellow Junior SunDogs.

Competing in the final tournament of the season in Saskatoon/Warman, the SunDogs dropped their first three matches, before being able to bounce back.

They began the tournament Saturday morning with a loss to HVC Green (18-25, 16-25).

Following the defeat, the SunDogs were back on the court against QCVC Rebels.

Despite winning the first set, the Rebels battled back to take the next two and the match (25-15, 19-25, 8-15).

Still searching for their first win of the provincial tournament, the SunDogs took on the Warman VC but came up just short, losing both sets by two points (24-26, 24-26).

However, after almost taking down Warman, Swift Current managed to build up some momentum.

In their final game on Saturday, the SunDogs picked up their first win after taking care of the QCVC Eclipse in three sets (25-23, 20-25, 17-15).

On Sunday morning, Swift Current picked up where they had left on Saturday afternoon.

The SunDogs rolled to their second straight victory with a win over the Yorkton Blitz (25-23, 25-20).

Unfortunately for Swift Current though, the winning would stop there.

In their final two contests of the event, the SunDogs dropped a three set decision to the Regina Purple Thunder (21-25, 25-16, 8-15), before falling 23-25, 22-25 to the QCVC Warriors.
