Ahead of their 100th year of operation, Elmwood Golf and Country Club announced Tuesday afternoon that their golf pros would be seeing a slight shift in job description for the coming season and beyond.

Brennan Rumancik, the now-former Associate Professional, has been promoted to Head Professional.

In a corresponding move, Jeff Chambers shifts from Head Professional to Teaching Professional for the upcoming season.

Rumancik served as an Assistant/Associate Professional from 2010-18 at Elmwood. He was honoured as the PGA of Saskatchewan ‘Assistant of the Year’ in 2015.

He also has two PGA of Saskatchewan ‘Player of the Year’ awards to his name. The first came in 2016, with the latest coming after a strong 2018 season.

That strong tournament season this past summer aided Rumancik in climbing the PGA of Canada rankings, currently holding the 43rd spot.

Meanwhile, Chambers settles into an area he’s found both comfort and prestigious recognition in.

The former Head Pro was named the Ben Kern PGA of Canada ‘Coach of the Year’ in 2018, raking in the same award from the PGA of Saskatchewan as well.

Chambers was also named the PGA of Saskatchewan ‘Junior Promoter of the Year’, also taking home the Professional Development award this past fall.

We’ll look to have comments from both Rumancik and Chambers this week.
