After a banner season this fall, the Great Plains Sundogs women's volleyball team celebrated their accomplishments Wednesday night with their awards banquet.

Playing in the Prairie Athletic Conference, the Sundogs women earned the Southwest Cup in a win over the Millar Edge, their first ever provincial title this season, and a League Championship.

"This is a great group of student-athletes who’ve demonstrated team work on and off the court, and a commitment to excellence both in their sport and in their studies," Mona Patterson, SunDogs Athletics and recreation coordinator at Great Plains College said in a release. "All of their hard work has paid off and we’re so proud of all the accomplishments of this team and their coaches, who are also proud SunDogs Alumni I might add."

Awards were handed out to five different Sundogs on the night:

  • Emily Bredahl - MVP award
  • Kyra Behm - Outstanding Defence award
  • Montana Jacobson - Coaches award
  • Tess Vandersteen / Jordan Jacobson - Leadership award

Jordan Jacobson also earned a PAC All-Star Athlete award for her efforts this season, the 20th Sundogs athlete to earn the accolade.
