Former Swift Current Broncos Head Coach and General Manager Todd McLellan is one of the three finalists for the Jack Adams Award.

It was announced on Wednesday that McLellan, along with Columbus Head Coach John Tortorella and Toronto Maple Leafs' Bench Boss Mike Babcock were the three finalists for the NHL Coach of the Year.

In just his second season with the Edmonton Oilers, McLellan helped guide them to a 33-point improvement from last season, while ending the Oilers 11-year playoff drought.

The nomination is the second time in his career that McLellan is in the finalist voting for the award, with the first time being back in 2009 with San Jose.

The Melville native, was the Head Coach and GM of the Swift Current Broncos from 1994-2000, being named the WHL's Executive of the Year in 1997 and Coach of the Year in 2000.

The NHL awards will be given out June 21 in Las Vegas.
