A southwest-hosted SHSAA 1A Girls' Volleyball Provincial Championship resulted in the host team medalling.

The Fox Valley Legends played host over the weekend along with help from Maple Creek.

The host side finished second in the round robin with a win over Plenty (25-22, 22-25, 17-15) along with two straight-set wins over Eston (25-15, 25-23) and Kakisiwew (25-13, 25-16). Their lone loss of group play was to the eventual gold-medal-winning Rose Valley Roadrunners (20-25, 15-25).

Then in the Provincial quarterfinal Legends took down Annaheim 28-26, 25-15 to advance to the semis.

The Legends and Englefeld Eagles met for a spot in the gold medal game where, in similar scores to the previous game, it was a straight set win (27-25, 25-14) - however, Englefeld would be the winning team in the game, dropping Fox Valley into a battle for bronze.

Fox Valley and the Plenty Wildcats met in a rematch from the round robin, where once again the southwest team came out on top, this time only needed two sets (26-24, 25-19).

The aforementioned provincial champion Rose Valley Roadrunners easily beat Englefeld for the gold with scores of 25-19, 25-12 to repeat as SHSAA 1A Girls' Volleyball gold medallists.
