Now just sixty minutes away from claiming the South Saskatchewan Female Midget 'AA' League championship.

The Full Line Ag Broncos used five different goal scorers Monday night en route to a 6-3 game one win over the Regina Capitals to begin their best of three league final.

Swift Current scored early and often in the first period, making their presence felt against the league's second seed.

Baylee Kirwan put the Broncos on the board just 56 seconds into the game for an early 1-0 lead.

From there, the Broncos would continue to add on.

Just passed the midway point of the opening frame, Kalea Sauder scored her second goal of the playoffs, before Courtney Funk netted her sixth goal of the playoffs two minutes later to put the Broncos up 3-0.

With 3:15 left to play in the first Sara Kendall joined in on the action for Swift Current, increasing their lead to 4-0.

However, the Broncos were unable to carry the 4-0 lead into the first intermission as the Capitals got on the board with just under two minutes to go.

Midway through the second period, Regina managed to trim the lead down to 4-2, but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the night.

Bailey Wilson regained Swift Current three goal lead with under five minutes left in the middle frame, as the Broncos went up 5-2 entering the third.

Kendall's second goal of the night at the 9:45 mark of the final period put Swift Current well in control with a 6-2 lead.

The Capitals would go on to score one more time before the game ended in a 6-3 final.

Amaya Giraudier picked up the win in goal for Swift Current.

For the Broncos, they will now prepare for game two of the series to be played Wednesday night in Swift Current.

With a win, the Broncos would claim the league title, while a loss would send the series back to Regina for a winner take all game three on March 27th.
