With the state of Florida preparing to be hit by one of the largest hurricanes on record, the Florida Panthers have cancelled their four-team prospect tournament that was scheduled to be held in Estero, Florida later this week.

The tournament that was scheduled to run from September 9-12 and feature Swift Current Broncos forward Aleksi Heponiemi was cancelled on Wednesday morning.

Heponiemi a 2017 second-round draft pick of the Panthers is still expected to attend the NHL organizations main training camp later this month.

The Broncos will hit the ice Friday evening in Lethbridge where they will battle the Hurricanes, before returning home Sunday to host Lethbridge at Fairview West Arena.
