It was not the weekend the Kabos Bantam 'AA' Broncos were hoping for.

In Warman, representing Saskatchewan at the Western Canada Bantam 'AAA' Hockey Championship, the Broncos finished the tournament with a 0-4 record.

Despite firing 29 shots on goal on Thursday in their first game, against the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers, Swift Current fell 5-0 to the Alberta representatives.

Trying to bounce back on Friday, the Broncos took on the Manitoba champion, Winnipeg Monarchs but ultimately dropped their second straight game, losing 5-3.

Needing at least one victory on Saturday to try and secure a spot in one of Sunday's medal games, the Broncos had a busy day, playing twice.

It started with a morning contest against the undefeated Burnaby Winter Club Bruins.

Although tied 2-2 after two periods of play and having outshot the Bruins 22-14, Burnaby would go on to score the lone goal of the third period to take down the Broncos 3-2.

Following the loss to Burnaby, Swift Current needed to defeat Sask Valley to have any chance at playing in the bronze medal game.

Despite coming off of a two game sweep of the Vipers to clinch the league and provincial title earlier this month, the Vipers got the better of Swift Current 5-1, bringing an end to the Broncos run at Westerns.

In the end, the Burnaby Bruins went on to defeat Sask Valley 9-2 in the gold medal game, while Fort Saskatchewan downed Winnipeg 6-3 for bronze.
