Unable to defeat the Yorkton Terriers, the Kabos Bantam 'AA' Broncos will have to settle for second place in the South Division.

Playing host to the Terriers on Saturday, Swift Current had the opportunity to tie Yorkton atop the South Division with a win, but were unsuccessful.

Although the Broncos got off to a strong start with Riley Dekowny scoring twice in the first six minutes of the game, Swift Current was unable to withstand Yorkton's push back.

Beginning on the power-play, the Terriers cut the lead to 2-1 with 5:17 to play in the opening frame, before scoring two more goals in the final 1:39 of the period to take a 3-2 lead into the first intermission.

Yorkton then began to pull away in the second.

After a short-handed goal extended their lead to 4-2, they netted their fifth goal of the game in the late stages of the frame to carry a 5-2 lead into the break.

Unable to get much going in the final twenty minutes, the Broncos surrendered a 6th goals, ultimately falling 6-2.

With the loss, Swift Current was cemented into second place in the South, while Yorkton clinched the top seed.

The Broncos will still have a bye into the South Division Quarter-Finals though, as they await their opponent.

Swift Current will battle the second lowest remaining seed from the first round of playoffs.

Each series throughout the Saskatchewan Bantam 'AA' Hockey League playoffs will be best of three.

The Broncos finished the regular season with a record of 19-4-4-3, while Reed Jacobson finished fifth in the league scoring race with 70 points.
