One bad end was all it took to bring an end to Swift Current's Max Kirkpatrick's run at the Affinity Credit Union Joint Senior Provincial Curling Championships.

Playing the bonspiel in his home rink at the Credit Union iPlex, Kirkpatrick surrendered four points in the 7th end of the semi-final, which he was unable to overcome.

Kirkpatrick was taking on Saskatoon's Brian Humble for the second time, looking to rebound from an opening draw loss against Humble.

After blanking the first two ends, the Swift Current rink was forced to settle for one in the 3rd for an early 1-0 advantage.

Humble, however, came right back with a deuce in the 4th, before forcing Kirkpatrick to another single in the 5th to take control of the contest.

With hammer in a tied game during the 6th end Humble was unable to convert on scoring in the even end, as Kirkpatrick stole a single point for a 3-2 lead heading into the 7th.

Despite carrying the one point advantage into the 7th end, that is where the game got out of hand for the home team.

Humble went on to score four points and take a commanding 6-3 lead coming home.

In the final end, Kirkpatrick was unable to generate the three points necessary to tie the game.

Following the contest, Humble went on to play Darrell McKee of Saskatoon in the final, who punched his ticket to the championship game by way of his 7-0 round robin record.

McKee went on to defeat Humble 3-2 in the provincial final and earn the right to represent Saskatchewan at the 2017 Everest Canadian Seniors Curling Championship in Fredericton, New Brunswick, starting on March 18th.

Saskatoon's Sherry Anderson defeated Moose Jaw's Lorraine Arguin 8-4 to claim the Saskatchewan Senior Women's Curling title for a second straight year

Joining Team McKee in Fredericton will be Saskatoon's Sherry Anderson, who won her second straight women's title over the weekend.

Anderson defeated Moose Jaw's Lorraine Arguin 8-4 in the final, which was Arguin's second time losing the provincial final in three years.

Last year, Anderson and her Saskatoon based rink lost in the National Seniors final to Nova Scotia's Colleen Jones.
