A tough start was just too much to over come last night for the Home Hardware Midget AAA Legionnaires, as they fell 6-3 to the visiting Notre Dame Hounds.

The Hounds leapt ahead 3-0 after the first, and were up 6-0 at one point in the second period, before Rhett Evjen broke the goose egg for Swift Current with two minutes and change ahead of the second intermission.

Evjen (12:06) and Chase Gallant (3:16) scored in the third period to cut the deficit to three goals, though too little time remained for any sort of threat to Notre Dame's lead.

Blake Rasmuson chipped in with two helpers in the loss, while Ethan Hein made 29 saves on 35 shots.

The Legionnaires have now lost three of their last four games, are 3-6-0-1 in 2019, and now sit in a three-way tie for fourth place in the SMAAAHL standings.

All at 46 points, the Legionnaires (22-13-1-1), Hounds (21-12-2-2), and Prince Albert Mintos (22-15-0-2) all are piled in the four spot, though Swift and Notre Dame have two games in hand on P.A. with seven games remaining in the regular season.

Hoping for at least a brief bit of breathing room in the standings, the Legionnaires host that Mintos squad Sunday at 3:45 p.m., with a venue change to Fairview West, instead of the usual Innovation Credit Union iPlex.
