Three southwest athletes stood atop, or tied at the top of their events on Day 2 of the CCA Finals Rodeo.

Thursday action at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex saw Central Butte's TJ Loeppky take Bull Riding with a score of 83.5.

The other two competitors from the southwest were among four in total perched at the top of the standings for Day 2 Saddle Bronc.

Piapot's Casey Bertam and Maple Creek's Adam Gilchrist each posted marks of 78.5 to share the win. Colman Watt (Hardisty, AB) and Wyatt Thurston (Big Valley, AB) also earned the same score.

Elsewhere, Bailey Plaiser (Pak Lake, MB) took Bareback with a score of 81.5.

Team Roping belonged to Wyatt Stuber (Redcliff, AB) and Brady Chappel (Moose Jaw, SK), clocking in at an even 6.0 seconds.

Scott Sigfusson (Davidson, SK) needed just four seconds to earn the W in Steer Wrestling.

Ladies Barrel Racing was won by Jordan Fitzhenry (Coaldale, AB) with a time of 12.6 seconds.

And Tie Down Roping went to Justin Bridgeman (Binscarth, MB) with a time of 9.7 seconds.

Day 3 action is underway again today with Junior and Novice Rodeo starting at 1 p.m., and the main draw again set for 7 p.m. at the iPlex.
