Shaunavon golfer Hannah MacNeil was representing the southwest and the province at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship this past week eastern Canada.

On the par-70 Camelot Golf and Country Club in Cumberland, Ontario, MacNeil posted rounds of +18 (88) on Tuesday and +20 (90) on Wednesday for a 36-hole total of +38 (178). The Shaunavon product fell short of making the cut.

To get into the National tournament, MacNeil posted a qualifying score of +32 at the 67th Saskatchewan Junior Women’s Golf Provincial Championship at Chinook Golf Club in Swift Current – good for second place.

This was MacNeil’s second consecutive appearance at Junior Nationals, after posting two straight rounds of 97 at The Links at Penn Hills in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.

MacNeil now shifts her focus to Winnipeg, as she looks to post solid scores at the 2017 Canada Summer Games. The tournament runs August 8-11.
