A gritty game last night at Fairview West arena resulted in a 3-2 come-from-behind win for the Swift Current Abbey Resources Midget AA Broncos.

A Levi Lamotte goal for Swift Current on a feed from Beau Larson in the first period was matched by a goal from the visiting Notre Dame Argos less than two minutes after.

Tied at 1-1 after one, the Argos got the jump in the middle frame with a goal just past the midway point.

The Midget Broncos trailed the Argos 2-1 headed into the third period, but inside the 12-minute mark, captain Aaron Wittmier and Hendrik De Klerk set up Lamotte for his second goal of the game to tie it up.

Then, with little more than four minutes remaining in the game, Colt Kornfeld took a pass from Brock Herter to send the Notre Dame Argos back to Wilcox with the one-goal loss.

Swift was out-shot 42-22 by Notre Dame, and Midget Broncos goalie Jacob Herman appeared to have been standing on his head in the 40-save win.

The Swift Current Abbey Resources Midget AA Broncos (10-3-3-1) start December with a one-game weekend. They're back at Fairview West playing host to the Weyburn Wings (6-3-2-0) on Sunday, December 3.
