The City of Swift Current will be the host site for the Mosquito 'AA' Tier 1 Baseball Provincial championship this summer.

The Swift Current Mosquito 'AA' 57's will be the host team for the tournament, which will run from July 14-16.

Last year, the Swift Current team finished the provincial tournament with a 3-1 record and 2nd place in Group 'B'.

Their lone loss came at the hands at the White Butte Broncos, who went on to win the 2016 championship.

Secretary of Swift Current Minor Baseball and Mosquito 'AA' Head Coach, Kyle McIntyre was pleased with the announcement.

"Swift Current Minor Baseball has had a tradition of excellence. We are pleased that our association serves over 300 youth annually through the great game of baseball," he said in a release.

"Swift Current Minor Baseball, in partnership with the city of Swift Current, is pleased to show case our outstanding diamonds, our quality officials, and our community's and association's strong base of volunteers".

Most Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget provincial tournaments have yet to determine a host site.
