The provincial run came to an end Thursday night for the Full Line Ag Female Midget 'AA' Broncos.

On the road in Weyburn for game two of their two game total point series against the Drillers, the two teams played to a 2-2 draw, giving Weyburn a 5-4 total point victory.

Having dropped the series opener 3-2 on Tuesday, the Broncos entered the game knowing they needed to win by two or more goals but came up short.

After a scoreless first period, Weyburn found the back of the net 3:06 into the middle frame for a 1-0 (4-2) lead, putting plenty of pressure on Swift Current.

The Broncos, however, did respond.

Later in the second Sara Kendall put Swift Current on the board tying the game 1-1, while trimming the Drillers series lead to 4-3.

Then just under three minutes later, Baylee Kirwan put the series back on even ground.

The Bronco's forward beat Weyburn goalie Kim Kary to give Swift Current a 2-1 lead and tying total points 4-4.

The score remained the same entering the final period of play, meaning whoever won the third period would be advancing to the SHA Female Midget 'AA' Provincial Semi-Finals.

Unfortunately for Swift Current, with just over ten minutes left to play in the third, Weyburn's Kirsten Perras scored her second goal of the game to tie the game 2-2 and restore the Drillers total point lead (5-4).

The Broncos were unable to find the equalizer in the final ten minutes of the game, bringing an end to their provincial run.

Weyburn meanwhile, will now await the winner of Notre Dame and Estevan in the semi's.

Swift Current on the other hand will switch their focus back to league play with playoffs just around the corner.

The Broncos, who finished 5th in league standings will begin a best of three series with the 4th ranked Parkland Lions on Monday.

Game one will be played in Ochapowace, with game two scheduled to go February 24th in Swift Current.

If necessary, game three would be played February 26th in Melville.
