Two southwest schools will be represented at SHSAA's HOOPLA provincial basketball tourney this week.

Advancing out of Regionals were the Swift Current Comp Senior Ardens, and the Coronach Colts Senior Boys.

The Senior Ardens needed just one win to clinch one of two berths to 5A Girls Provincials, and that's exactly what they got.

A pair of 14-point efforts from Danika Messer and Mackenzie McIntyre aided Swift Current in a 67-47 route of Weyburn.

Then in the Regional final, the Ardens fell 75-53 to PA Carlton.

The Senior Ardens open HOOPLA this Thursday in Saskatoon, as they take on Regina LeBoldus at 6 p.m. from Walter Murray Collegiate.

Meanwhile, the Coronach Colts throttled competition as hosts of their 1A Regional.

Coronach smacked Stoughton 126-58, then claimed a Regional title with a 106-55 win over Rocanville.

The Colts also open HOOPLA on Thursday, with a battle against Lake Lenore set for 7:45 p.m. from Centennial Collegiate in Saskatoon.

Elsewhere at Regionals, a trio of SWAC schools fell short of moving on to Provincials.

In 5A Boys action, the Swift Current Comp Colts went 1-1 to finish in third at their Regional.

Both the Shaunavon Silhouettes (2A Girls) and Herbert Laurels (1A Boys) went 0-2 to place fourth.
