Nearing the end of the 9-man football regular season, the Shaunavon Shadows (3-2) have jumped up into second place in Conference 2 after an 11-point win over Indian Head (3-2) on Friday in Shaunavon.

Down 14-0 after the first quarter, the Shadows rebounded to lead 20-14 at the half. Shaunavon held the lead through the second half, winning 37-26.

The Shadows needed the win to lock up second, as Indian Head held that spot in the standings prior to the two teams kicking off.

Meanwhile, the Maple Creek Redmen (1-4) stay in fourth place in the conference after a 67-0 road loss in Lumsden (5-0).

The Redmen and Fort Qu'Appelle (0-4) face off on October 13 as the lone game of the second-last week of the regular season.
