In the hours that followed back-stopping the Swift Current Broncos to a WHL Championship, goaltender Stuart Skinner was awarded further in the form of a three-year NHL entry-level deal.

Skinner was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round (78th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft, and showed the organization enough in the 2018 WHL playoffs to put pen to paper on the deal.

In 26 playoff appearances this season, Skinner posted a sturdy 2.20 goals-against-average, a .932 save-percentage, and six shutouts - the last of which eliminated the Everett Silvertips to hoist the Ed Chynoweth Cup.

As well, the Edmonton-born goaltender was named the WHL goaltender of the week for the third time in four weeks, and sixth time this season. His weekly averages were downright nasty, with a 3-1 record, 1.49 goals-against-average, a .957 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Skinner and the Broncos kick off the 100th Memorial Cup Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Brandt Centre in Regina against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
