Results have been made final from the 42nd annual Kyle Community Rodeo this past weekend. Southwest competitors claimed six first-place finishes at the stop on the CCA rodeo circuit. They also notably swept the top three spots in both Ladies Barrel Racing and Junior Girls Barrel Racing.

In the Ladies’ edition of the event, Gravelbourg’s Krystal Grad hustled to a win, posting a time of 13.64 seconds. She earned a four-figure payday, taking home $1,076.40.

In second place was Haley Glasrud of Shaunavon, who finished a tenth of a second behind Grad at 13.74 seconds. Second place earned Glasrud an even $936.00.

Rounding out the top three was Brooke Lang of Cadillac. Lang earned $795.60 with a time of 13.92 seconds.

In the Junior Girls’ run of the event, Maple Creek’s Janae Wilson dominated the field en route to the title. A time of 13.95 seconds earned Wilson $151.20.

In second and third respectively were Val Marie’s McKenna Legault and Maple Creek’s Logan Resch. Legault and Resch finished 0.06 seconds apart (14.24 sec, 14.30 sec). Legault earned $113.40 and Resch took home $75.60.

Saddle Bronc saw Swift Current’s Jeremy Dillon fend off the field, winning with a score of 79, to take home $469.80.

Consul’s Monty Koopman also scored 79 for a win in Bareback, earning a cool $540.00.

Yet another 79 poured in, as Hazenmore’s Chanse Switzer took the win in Bull Riding. His score edged Strongfield’s Weston Davidson by a single point, earning Switzer $945.00.

The sixth-and-final first-place finish from the southwest was Swift Current-product Blaine Switzer’s effort in Tie Down Roping. The veteran crushed the field, winning by 1.4 seconds with a time of 10.2 seconds.

Meanwhile a run of 4.2 seconds in Steer Wrestling earned Central Butte’s TJ Loeppky second place. Loeppky sat nearly a second back of first place, but just a tenth ahead of third. He grabbed $648.00 with the effort.

Coronach’s Liam Marshall and Maple Creek’s Blake Link finished second and third respectively in Novice Bareback. Marshall scored 64, earning $93.33, while Link scored 62, taking home $65.34.

And finally, in Novice Bull Riding, Abbey’s Blake Smith scored 71 to place third. He earned $84 for the effort.

The next CCA stop in the southwest is September 14-15 in Val Marie.
