Fox Valley Legends Girls - Regionals

The Fox Valley Legends Senior Girls are SHSAA 1A Girls' Volleyball West Regional champions after a strong showing in Gravelbourg over the weekend.

The Legends were in south central Saskatchewan and placed first in Pool A with straight-set wins over Avonlea and Gravelbourg.

This put them in the semifinal against Eston, a rematch from Conferences the previous weekend.

The Legends came out victorious in a three-set thriller and then took on Avonlea in the final.

It was yet another close match but the Legends beat them for a second time, this time in three sets, to gain the regional title.

Fox Valley will now host the SHSAA 1A Girls' Provincial Volleyball Championship on November 17 and 18, splitting games for the ten teams between their gym and Maple Creek.

Other teams in attendance are Avonlea, Eston, Plenty, Borden, Englefeld, Rose Valley, Annaheim, Kakisiwew and Arcola.


Fox Valley Legends Boys - Conferences

The Fox Valley Legends captured an SHSAA 2A Boys' Volleyball Conference title at Ecole Mathieu in Gravelbourg.

The Legends cruised through the five-team round robin undefeated at 4-0, and not losing a set along the way. They beat Ponteix, Kincaid/Ecole Mathieu, Gravelbourg, and Eston.

The Ponteix Predators finished 3rd with a record of 2-2.

The Predators beat Eston and Gravelbourg, and because of their third-place finish, will also advance to Regionals.

Vanguard Valkyrs Boys - Conferences

In a showing of very evenly-matched competition at the five-team SHSAA 1A Boys' Conference Championship held in Cabri, three teams finished the round-robin with a 3-1 record.

After the application of a tie-breaker, the Vanguard Valkyrs came out on top in first place.

They three-set wins over Beechy and Frontier, swept Leader in straight sets, but lost to Cabri/Hazlet in three sets.

The Leader Saints managed second place with straight-set wins over Cabri/Hazlet, Frontier, and Beechy.

Both Vanguard and Leader will now advance to SHSAA 1A Boys' Volleyball Regional play on November 18.


Shaunavon Shadows Boys - Conferences

In SHSAA 4A Boys' Conference volleyball, the Shaunavon Shadows placed first in Moose Jaw.

They went undefeated with two-set wins over Assiniboia and Imperial, while edging both Lumsden and Moose Jaw Vanier in three sets.

The Shadows are back in Moose Jaw this weekend again, this time for SHSAA 4A Boys' Regionals.

Leader Saints Girls - 3rd Place Regionals

The Leader Saints were in tough at home in their SHSAA 2A Girls' West Regional over the weekend.

The finished first in Pool B with wins over Pierceland and Luseland, but lost in the semi-final to the eventual champion Rossignol from Ile-a-la-Crosse.

They took the third-place game against Pierceland again, securing a berth at SHSAA 2A Girls' Provincials in Davidson this weekend.
