The Swift Current Comp Senior Ardens volleyball team finished in third place at a 16 team-tournament at Regina's Winston Knoll Collegiate over the weekend.

The Senior Ardens swept all three games of their round robin schedule with two-set wins over Winston Knoll, Regina Harvest City, and Balgonie Greenall's B-team.

Swift's first-place finish in the pool meant a regroup with Regina Thom, Yorkton, and Tisdale. The Ardens won that as well.

Into the quarterfinals, the senior Ardens faced Greenall's A-team. Swift took the match in three sets (25-23, 20-25, 15-10).

However, the first loss of the tournament came in the semi-finals against Lumsden. Swift Current fell in three sets (25-13, 23-25, 9-15) to drop to the bronze medal game.

In the bronze, Regina O'Neill awaited. Swift Current cruised through the third-place game with a straight-set sweep of 25-17, 25-12.

Three Ardens received tournament accolades. Mackenzie Veason won an MVP award, while Brielle Wall and Savannah Banks were named to the tournament all-star team.

Next up for the Senior Ardens is a tournament in Weyburn September 21-22.
