Two Swift Current Midget Rampage Lacrosse players helped Team Sask work a Day 1 split of games at Midget Box Lacrosse Nationals in Calgary.

Goalie Shane Friesen and forward Aden Gunn were in action yesterday, as Team Sask defeated Team Manitoba 7-2 in their opener. They later fell 11-4 to Team Ontario.

Friesen stood strong in net for Team Sask in the win over their provincial neighbours to the east, allowing just the pair of goals. He allowed five of the 11 goals between the pipes against Ontario.

Held off the stat sheet in the opener, Gunn racked up two assists in their second game against Team Ontario. He recorded a secondary assist on Saskatchewan's first goal in the first period. Gunn later added the primary assist Team Sask's second goal, which occurred mid-way through the second frame.

Friesen and Gunn are back at it today in games against Team Nova Scotia, and Team British Columbia.
