A trio of players who suited up for the Swift Current Broncos this past season will be attending NHL development camps this summer.

Coming off a strong finish to the season and a highly successful playoffs campaign defenceman Sahvan Khaira was one of 13 invites to the Edmonton Oilers summer player development camp. The camp began on Canada Day and runs until July 5th in Jasper, Alberta.

The Surrey, B.C. product is coming off a career year in which he recorded 17 points (1G,16A) and a plus seven rating while playing top four minutes in a shutdown role for the Broncos. The 19-year-old's brother Jujhar Khaira recently just signed a one-year deal with the Oilers.

After not being signed by the St. Louis Blues or selected upon re-entering the NHL Entry Draft this past year, Glenn Gawdin has been given another shot. The Calgary Flames announced on June 30th the Broncos captain would be one of 16 players invited to attend development camp on a try-out agreement that begins on July 5th.

Last year, Gawdin posted career highs in goals with 26 and points with 59, while missing 20 games due to injury. The Richmond, B.C. native also collected 11 points (6G and 5A) in 14 playoffs games helping lead the Broncos to the second round for the first time since

The final confirmed NHL camp participant is Swift Current Broncos graduate Jordan Papirny. The 21-year-old will join 5 other goalies who have been invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs development camp that opens on Thursday, July 6 for medicals before on-ice practice sessions start on Friday, July 7 at the MasterCard Centre.

Acquired by the Broncos at the WHL trade deadline, Papirny played in 31 games for Swift Current with 14 of them in the playoffs, where he posted a stellar .935 save percentage and a 2.48 goals-against average.

Papirny, who hails from Edmonton, Alta., signed an Amateur Tryout contract at the end of last season with the Toronto Marlies, although he didn't appear in any games at the AHL level.
