On a night where power plays accounted for most of the scoring a third period too many men penalty was doubly costly for the Swift Current Broncos.

The penalty negated the remainder of a Broncos power play and then led to a Brayden Tracey power play goal that stood up as the game winning goal for Moose Jaw in a 4-2 win over Swift Current.

"Some stupidity cost us a game," said Broncos Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Dean Brockman. "Not mentally alert and did somethings that we shouldn't have. We had opportunities to get pucks on net and we didn't. We still want to try to pick the corner from far out. I can't really explain that. We need to create more offence by just putting pucks on net... I thought for the most part we didn't a pretty good job, but it's frustrating when we make a couple of stupid plays that cost us a hockey game."

Moose Jaw's top line of Tracey, Justin Almeida and Tristan Langan combined for four goals and seven points to lead the Warriors to the victory. They went 3 for 4 on the power play and generated most of Moose Jaw's scoring chances.

"I don't think it was that as much as us breaking down," Brockman said. "Yeah they're good players, but to play in this league you have to match good players."

Ethan Regnier and Tanner Nagel both scored for the Broncos as they went 2 for 3 on their man advantage. The success came after some adjustments to their attack that seemed to click.

"It was really good," Brockman said. "We changed some things on it and the guys responded to it. It hurts when our penalty kill wasn't good enough. All in all it's encouraging especially with (Alex Moar) out of the lineup it's good to see us get a couple."

The power play was really the only time where the Broncos were able to generate cosnistent offensive pressure.

"It was close in the score but they gave it to us for most of the game," Regnier said. "We didn't make little puck plays that we should have and it resulted us staying in our D zone for longer than we needed to. That's why they outshot us so bad."

Riley Lamb made 33 saves in a losing cause for the Broncos. Joona Kiviniemi and Connor Horning each had two assists.

Horning has 10 points in his last 12 games.

It was the first game between the two teams since a deal that sent Alec Zawatsky from Swift Current to Moose Jaw for Tyler Smithies and two draft picks.

The Broncos host Calgary on Saturday with only three home games and twelve in total left in their regular season schedule.
