A pair of SWAC girls curling teams competed at SHSAA Provincials this past weekend in Nipawin.

The Gull Lake girls team started off with wins over Wadena (8-6) and Spiritwood (6-3), wrapping up the round-robin with an 8-5 loss to Yorkton.

Then, Gull Lake and Spiritwood were forced to play a tie-breaker to advance to playoffs. Gull Lake lost 7-5 in the rematch with Spiritwood.

Meanwhile, the Maple Creek girls won their opener in a one-sided 11-3 win over Nipawin.

Maple Creek then lost to Weyburn (9-7) and Allan (6-4) to see their provincial tournament come to a close.
