For the second straight year in Swift Current, the Innovation Credit Union iPlex has gotten a transformation from the ice-covered rink that the Swift Current Broncos call home, to the dirt-covered arena of the Canadian Cowboys Association Finals Rodeo.

The rodeo, which kicks off today and runs through Saturday, will house some of the best all-around talent in western Canada, and especially southwest Saskatchewan.

Notably among the competition is a father and his three sons from Waldeck.

This year marks Scott McLeod's 30 consecutive Canadian Finals Rodeos, competing at his 31st finals.

He's joined at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex this year by sons Tuftin, Tyce, and Tee, who all have dominated the Team Roping competition this season ahead of the finals.

Tuftin, the eldest of the three McLeod boys, cruised through the rodeo season, claiming the spot as top Header, breaking the record with $22,180.23 over the course of the year - the next closest was Tee, the youngest McLeod, with $8,046.19.

Meanwhile, Tuftin's roping partner Tyce, the middle McLeod brother, claimed the top Heeler spot with $15,708.99 in earnings. Tee's Heeler is his dad Scott, who came in second with $11,768.87.

Tyce won the Tie Down Roping year-end and Tuftin qualified for the finals through the Peavey Mart tour.

The dominance continued in the Canadian High Point category for the McLeod boys, as Tuftin claimed first ahead of the finals with $27,301.70 through 33 rodeos.

Tyce was hot on his heels with $26,020.36, however, the total was achieved through just 21 rodeos, as the 3rd year student at New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) in Hobbs, New Mexico, had to head back for the school year and college rodeo circuit.

Coming in fifth in High Point was Tee, who had $12,637.58 through 26 rodeos. The youngest McLeod's regular season was cut short as well, finishing 11th in the steer wrestling as he started his first year at NMJC as well.

The final accolade for the rodeo family was three horses being named CCA Horses of the Year:

Tie Down Roping - Hollywood - Tuftin McLeod
Team Roping Heeling - Vegas - Tyce McLeod
Team Roping Heading - Cactus - Tuftin Mcleod

The trip to Swift Current will be short from Waldeck for Scott and Tuftin, but for Team Roping partners Tyce and Tee, the 22-hour trek from New Mexico will be a worthwhile end to the 2017 CCA Rodeo season.
