Jayden Halbgewachs scored four times and had three assists in a 10-5 Moose Jaw Warriors win over the Swift Current Broncos to wrap up the WHL regular season.

The Broncos were missing seven regulars from their lineup in a game that had no impact on the standings. As a result, Moose Jaw controlled the puck and the pace of the game all night.

Warriors captain Brett Howden also had a hat trick as Moose Jaw broke out of a recent scoring slump while playing against AP goaltender Bailey Brkin.

The 17-year-old call-up faced 53 shots in his first WHL game.

Conner Chaulk scored twice for Swift Current as they stayed close only down 3-2 after the first period and 6-4 after the second period. The Warriors pulled away in the third.

Riley Stotts, Ryley Lindgren and MacKenzie Wight also scored for the Broncos in a losing cause.

It was Wight's first career goal and came after he threw a hard check on Warriors defenceman Matt Sozanski.

Artyom Minulin had two assits on the night and Lindgren added a helper to get to two points. He finished the regular season with 20 points in his last 13 games.

Despite the loss the Broncos were able to score 5 goals on 21 shots against Moose Jaw starting goaltender Zach Sawchenko.

Swift Current went 2 for 4 on their power play and Moose Jaw went 3 for 6.

The Broncos didn't have Jordan Papirny, Colby Sissons, Max Lajoie, Kaden Elder, Kole Gable, Lane Pederson, Ryan Graham or Ethan Regnier in their lineup. Both Graham and Regnier are done for the season. The others could return on Friday for the first game of the playoffs.

Swift Current finished the regular season at 39-23-4-6 and had the team's best record since the 2007-08 season. They are five points back of Moose Jaw for second place and will start their first round playoff series with the Warriors next weekend.

Moose Jaw won the regular season series 4-2.

Tyler Steenbergen finished tied with Tyler Wong of the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the WHL league lead in goals at 51 on the season.

Aleksi Heponiemi will finish with the league lead in points from a rookie at 86.
