Game two of the WMBL Championship Series between the Swift Current 57's and Edmonton Prospects belonged to the road team last night.

The 57's dropped the contest 6-4 in large part to a scrappy Prospects team who out-hit the 57's 12-5 in the game, evening the series at one game apiece.

Starter Dustin Wells pitched himself out of several jams early in the ball game, but the hits started adding up, with singles squeaked their way through the gaps in the infield. The Glendale, Arizona native's night was done after a respectable five and two-thirds innings, giving up three earned runs on nine hits, while striking out five.

Production continued at the plate for 57's third baseman Riley Campbell as well in the loss, going 2-4 and grabbing a pair of RBIs to bring his batting average in the playoffs to a team-high .383.

With a home-stand split through the first two games of the series, the 57's now look to head out on the road to Alberta's capital city for games three and four. Swift Current has gone 4-0 on the road in the 2017 WMBL playoffs.

"Fortunately we've been travelling well this year," said 57's head coach Joe Carnahan. "Game twos haven't been very nice to us so far in these playoffs, but game threes have. So we just have to go out and play our game and see what happens."

Mitch Guiberson starts game three tonight at ReMax Field in Edmonton.
