Another baseball game and another victory for the Swift Current Yard Goats.

Playing host to the Shaunavon Badgers Thursday night at Mitchell Field, the Goats picked up a 7-3 victory.

For the defending Sask-Alta League champions, they have carried over their momentum from last season's title run, beginning the 2017 season with a 5-0 start.

The five straight wins has Swift Current sitting two games ahead both the Cabri River Rats and Gull Lake Greyhounds for top spot in the Sask-Alta's East Division.

Elsewhere in league action Thursday night, the Burstall Braves improved their record to 3-1 with a 23-7 victory in Medicine Hat over the Black Sox.

The loss dropped Medicine Hat to 2-2.

Looking forward, Swift Current's next scheduled game will not come until the calendar turns to June.

The Yard Goats will welcome Gull Lake to Swift Current on June 5th.
