Swift Current's 30th annual Ability Bowl took place yesterday afternoon, with participants from across the southwest coming to bowl.

Jessica Sauder is the Community Relations Coordinator for the Sask Abilities Council in Swift Current. She says the event keeps getting bigger and better.

“This year’s our 30th annual Ability Bowl, and you can see the community support keeps getting bigger and bigger,” she said. “We fund-raise this every year so our branch can continue to offer that quality of service in a financially stable model”

This year’s theme was “Rock and Bowl”. Teams dressed up in 70’s and 80’s themed costumes to get in the bowling and fundraising spirit.

“We have individuals with disabilities, we have businesses, we had the Swift Current RCMP detachment over here, we had some banks, a bunch of different people here,” Sauder said. “The City of Swift Current has been a huge support over the past 30 years, and we’re very excited to keep doing this fundraiser... for some more years.”

Full totals for how much the Ability council raised will be released tomorrow.
