The Christmas spirit was alive and well in Shaunavon last night as the community hosted their 21st Annual Parade of Lights.

A large crowd attended the parade, and the first night of late night shopping in Shaunavon, as well as other events including a hot dog sale, with all proceeds going to the Grand Coteau Center, kids crafts and musical performances by local school choirs at the museum and the official lighting of the community Christmas tree by Citizen of the Year, Dianne Greenlay.

Joanne Gregoire is the President of The Shaunavon Chamber of Commerce. She talks about why this event has been so successful for so many years. "It's just such a magical evening that I think, ya know, right from the very first year it was just so well received and just became a tradition. So, it's easy to carry on because everybody looks forward to it, and everybody loves it."

The evening finished off with a fireworks display at the Sports Grounds.
