An air-quality statement has been issued by Environment Canada for Swift Current, Herbert, Cabri, Kyle, and Lucky Lake.

Smoke from wildfires in Alberta and British Columbia is blowing across the southern part of Saskatchewan, hampering air quality and visibility.

"While periods of improvement are likely, the westerly flow aloft will remain in place for the next couple of days," said the statement on Environment Canada's website. "Smoke and reduced air quality will continue to impact portions of the province into Friday and potentially the weekend, especially if additional forest fires develop over the region."
