It's officially a snow day.

In the wake of Sunday's blizzard and with poor road conditions all over the southwest, the Chinook School Division announced Monday morning that classes at all of their schools have been cancelled and all school buildings are closed for the day. They report that "staff and students are not able to travel to city and rural schools as road conditions are unsafe."

The Holy Trinity Catholic School Division also announced that classes are cancelled at All Saints School in Swift Current and Christ The King School in Shaunavon, and staff will be working from home today.

Also, Great Plains College has announced that all of their campus locations will be closed today, adding most college programs will be delivered online and staff will be working from home where possible. They add specific details on individual programs will be provided directly to students from their instructors, and skills and safety training classes will be rescheduled.

The Trans-Canada Highway remains closed from Gull Lake to the Alberta Boundary, and travel is not being recommended on many other southwest highways because of very icy conditions, drifting snow and near-zero visibility. You can see updated road conditions and other cancellations related to this storm on the Road Reports and Cancellations Page on Swift Current Online.
