The man who is alleged to have been involved in taking a child that resulted in the amber alert last Sunday has been caught.

19-year-old Johnathan Ryann Gunville of North Battleford is charged nine times including abduction of a person under 14, and abandoning a child.

Police say that hundreds of hours of surveillance footage from over 200 businesses were used as part of the investigation.

The full list of charges is as follows.

Abduction of a person under 14, unlawful confinement, abandoning a child, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, evading a police officer, two counts of driving while disqualified, and eight counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The Amber Alert came after a vehicle was stolen while a child was in the vehicle.

Included in the list of charges are two thefts of vehicles as well as the theft of the vehicle that originally incited the amber alert.

Gunville is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on September 24 at 9:30 a.m.
