Saturday night was the Badlands Blast at the Rock Creek Campground in the Grasslands National Park.

The Badlands Blast is a celebration of the Fossil Fever digs that the Park hosted over the weekend.

The Blast featured something for everyone. There were lots of kids activities, wagon rides where people could see the beauty of the park.

Dr. Emily Bramford who leads the Fossil Fever digs gave a presentation where everyone learned something about paleontology.

There was BBQ, and then there was a good old fashion hoedown where everyone sang and danced and had a good time with music provided by local musicals.

As Meredith Hebb, Heritage Presenter at Grasslands says the event was a blast for those who came out.

"It was a very successful day; the kid activities were really fun, all the kids had a great time, the wagon rides were successful, everyone enjoyed those," she said. "It kind of gives a different perspective and a different view when you're on the wagon to when you're hiking or driving, the dinner was a success, and everyone finished off dancing into the night."

Hebb added that despite the drop in the temperature during the evening everyone was able to keep themselves warm by dancing on the dance floor.
