Last week the Shaunavon Public School put on their performance of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" to raise money for the school's drama program.

The production featured 29 actors, with a total of 33 students in grades five to seven, actively involved with putting the play on.

Co-Director of the play, Shelby Carlson, says it's a great experience for the kids. "I find with arts you are pushed out of your comfort zone a little bit. So, the students that were involved are now, I believe, to be better public speakers. They'll be more employable cause they're used to being out in front of people and performing."

About 300 people attended the two nights of performances.

No final dollars amounts raised are available yet.

Last year's production of "Peter Pan" raised just over $1,000 for the program.
