It was a busy long weekend this past weekend in Swift Current as Municipal RCMP report in their Calls of Service synopsis.

Included in the report from Saturday November 10 in the early morning hours was a report of a newer black Ford driving erratically on the Number One Highway traveling westbound to Swift Current. The vehicle had been speeding and been in and out of the ditch. Officers made patrols of the city but were unable to locate a vehicle matching that description.

Also, that same day it was reported that a vehicle was damaged sometime overnight while parked on the 300 block of 7th Avenue South East. A concrete cinder block has been thrown through the back window of a red Chevrolet Impala and a propane tank had been left behind the vehicle. This matter remains under investigation.

That same evening an erratic driver in a white van was reported tailgating another vehicle on Third Avenue North East. Officers patrolled the area but could not find a vehicle matching that description.

And on Monday the 12th, officers, while on patrol, found a grey Audi Quatro severely damaged in the ditch near Number Four Highway and the South Service Road East. The vehicle was towed and officers were later able to determine who the driver was and he was charged under the Traffic Safety Act. No one was injured.

There was also a report of a domestic dispute on November 11 on Chaplin Street East. A 35 year old Swift Current woman has been charged with one count of assault under the Criminal Code and will be appearing in Swift Current Provincial Court on November 21.

And from November 12, a report of a male caught shoplifting from a business on the 1800 block of 22nd Avenue North East. The male was confronted by staff and he then returned the item and ran away. The matter remains under investigation.

And there was a report that same day of a female youth caught stealing from a business on the 100 block of First Avenue North East. She was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 of the Criminal Code.
