Canada's biggest bilingual summer reading program will be going virtual this year.

The TD Summer Reading Club is for kids of all ages, abilities and interests as Andrea McCrimmon, Manager of the Swift Current Library explains

"It's a free reading club that celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories and it inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their own way. It is really key to building a life long love of reading."

There will be a number of activities to do online according to McCrimmon

"Creating an online notebook, reading e-books right on the TD Summer Reading Club website, voting in the Battle of the Books, reviewing books they have read. There are weekly trivia things to participate in, writing stories, reading and writing jokes."

In addition, participants will be able to find an original webcomic, author and illustrator readings and workshops and colouring sheets.

This program may be of particular interest to parents who have children with print disabilities.

If a child has trouble reading print because of a physical, visual or learning disability they can call the library at 306-778-2752 and someone can explain the different formats available.
